Jamorama is a course that I recommend for people that do not want to learn from a video lesson community such as Guitar Tricks. It is a 1-time payment and you get several books and lessons that you can print out and learn away from your computer.

As an owner of the course, I believe that it has everything a beginner could ever want and more in a guitar course. It teaches everything from the very basics to intermediate lessons that I found to be very enjoyable. By going through this course completely, I believe that every beginner will advance at a much quicker pace than other guitar players.
Ben Edwards, creator of Jamorama, is a professional guitar player himself, playing and touring with the Australian band Degreesk. He created the course way back in 2004 and has made substantial improvements to it over the years. He regularly adds new lessons and other content to the members section on the Jamorama web site. I think Ben does a great job teaching the material, and I believe every new guitar player will benefit greatly from this course.
When you purchase the course, you will be given instructions on how to access the membership site. What I really like about the membership section is that Ben makes everything available for download. You can download the ebooks, videos, software, and audio files all from the members area. This enables you to be able to practice where ever you wish. I printed out the Intermediate ebook (154 pages!!!) and I still find myself referring to it when I’m interested in doing some exercises to keep my fingers strength.
Another cool part of Jamorama are the Jam tracks and video lessons. There are over 25 Jam tracks and over 150 videos. These videos will teach you absolutely everything that you need to know about the guitar. Lessons range from strumming, picking, warm ups, lead guitar, licks, and more. I have only gone through around 2/3 of the videos, and the teaching has been superb. Ben really knows how to teach guitar to beginners and intermediate students.
Here’s a list of the Jamorama features that I’ve been able to count so far:
- 2 ebooks: one for beginners (98 pages) and one for intermediate (150 pages!)
- Loads of lessons to keep you busy for months
- Roughly 150 videos of exercises and lessons
- Jam tracks to play along with to improve your playing
- Jamorama Ear Training Game – learn how to bring out your musical ear
- Guitar tuner software
- a nice, simple metronome (very important for practice!!!)
Jamorama has plenty of material to keep you occupied for quite awhile. I think it would honestly take a few months to really go through everything. I recommend that you work at your own pace. Do not try to speed through it. And set aside some team every single day to practice, even if it’s only for 15 minutes. That is much better than nothing! Go through each chapter and follow the lessons. Watch the videos when the book says and you will become an advanced player in record time!
